Birkin bags are usually lined in goat skin and will match the exterior color of the bag. The hardware on Birkin's is usually plated in gold or palladium which doesn't tarnish like silver. All of the locks and keys are number coded like a social security number.

Hermes Birkin's are one of the few brands out in the market that are not mass produced or sewn by machine. Yes your Louis Vuitton is in fact sewn by machines. Doesn't mean they still aren't fabulous (one of my favorite brands.) Hermes truly is the epitome of ‘you get what you pay for’. You’re paying for handwork that is a rare commodity anymore.

The Kelly Bag is a mini sister to the Birkin which is not as expensive but also not as in demand. Even celebs have to get on waiting lists. There is a larger size of the Birkin that is for travel and I recently spotted a gorgeous camel one that I died over priced at approx. $11,000. They are not cheap but everyone that buys one needs to look at it as an investment that you will have for a lifetime. They are truly timeless!
